First three singles went to No. 1 and within 5 years he was a back-up to Sooty and Sweep.

That’s true but Dave Clark was either more astute or luckier than most since he’s made a lot of money. Maybe his Glad All Over royalties have kicked in.

I wonder how much he gets every time it is played at Palace?

He did buy the rights to the Ready Steady Go TV show back catalogue and probably flogs showings of that in far flung places.
