Totally random but my lad is a bit cleverer than me.
The maps we see arnt in scale.
I saw some real overlaid countries into africa and its f***ing mahusive.
It was originally drawn when the raj controlled the globe and didnt want the west to be 'undersized'
Investigate it with the net and its absolutely jaw dropping. Only something outside of all the depression of the worlds ills atm.

Thought I heard in a quiz a few years ago that the largest country by area in Africa is Algeria.

A few years ago it would have been Sudan - South Sudan became independent in 2011.

An episode of the West Wing explains this it is actually true. They show how the map you should look like its bonkers.

My dear brother who has been a top 'Quizzer' would in all likelihood know this.

About a month ago on a call to him abroad I tested him with a couple of Geographical questions and he got both right.
He answered that Luzon was the largest island in the Philippines and that Budapest is known as the 'City of baths' ! Font of all knowledge!

Exactly badger. He showed me some over lays and russia australia and europe are swallowed by africa.
If they got their act together and stopped the big man attitude they are a superpower in waiting with the resources they have.
If that happened I think the world would really benefit. Resources are not only physical they are mental in respect of clever people and africa has many of those for sure.
