Anyone else got a view on our disallowed 3rd goal yesterday that was ruled out for offside. TV only showed one replay and I couldn’t see where the offence occurred. Was hoping to see again on MOTD but it wasn’t shown for some reason which I don’t understand. Maybe I’ve gone mad but did anyone else think the same.

Yes I thought the same, it wasn’t offside. The replay slowed down when the ball was played through to PVA and it didn’t look like he was offside, Wilf was but he wasn’t involved at that point. When PvA played it across the goal, Wilf was behind the ball so not offside. It baffled me why it was never looked at or even mentioned by the commentary. Maybe PVA was offside but it was so close I thought it needed VAR and the lines to confirm it to us.

I was of the same opinion. It just seemed to be fudged.

I wonder whether the AR has just messed up and because he flagged Fulham could argue they stopped playing, which is why VAR couldn’t get involved. Like you say I’m sure PVA was on side, and then so was Wilf by the time it was crossed in.

I think point is that wilf was involved because he went on to score. He gained an advantage and was able to be first to cross by being offside when ball played to PVA. Shame but that’s the rule

I’m pretty certain gaining an advantage only applies to the ball coming back of the post or keeper or defender

it looked a decent goal to me.

this year the referees are ruining the game with overzealous rules.

Yes, I get confused as to the difference between one or two phases of play and returning from an offside position to collect the ball. Is he offside as he was returning from an offside position to an onside position in the same phase of play. If it is two separate phases of play then surely he would not have been offside?

Do we have a ref on this Board who can clarify?

I take my initial comments back PVA was offside when the ball was played through, I’ve just managed to find a replay online. I need my eyes tested. Still strange MOTD didn’t show it though.

I've been searching for the footage as i was convinced PVA was onside, but can't find it anywhere, Where did you find it? could you post a link? Cheers

If it was a controversial or contentious decision I am sure MOTD would have shown the incident.

No Willo, you give us too much credit, you know MOTD couldn't give a stuff about something that benefits Palace.
