Liverpool and Manchester United are in talks to join the biggest clubs in Europe in a new competition starting from 2022. 🤝 Financiers are putting together a £4.6bn package to fund it and the league would feature 18 teams, with fixtures being played in midweek during the regular season. 👀 Thoughts???

Don't they moan enough already about fixture overload?

Project Big Picture fails....few days later...oh we're off to join this league, unless of course you start thinking about Project Big Picture again. It's the same as an agent putting a story in a paper about a club interested to get a new contract.

From the Daily Mail What I find interesting is that this would be a FIFA competition and not UEFA so it would rival the Champions League. This smacks of money money money. I think the big clubs will use this to threat to force UEFA to give them more money and more guaranteed games and participation. I mean why should Man United bother with tiresome things like qualification. The whole idea is disgusting because if it ever happened, and I don't think it will, it will probably be invitation only. What is even more disgusting than the greed of the big clubs is that the world regulator is quite prepared to undermine one of its own bodies so they can get a slice of the pie. Should this ever happen I hope that the FA and the PL tell the big 5 to sod off and expel them from the PL. Like I said I expect that after the fuss dies down UEFA will be forced into concessions on the Champions League which will just favour the big clubs and make it harder for any newcomers. Don't expect a level playing field.

Between VAR, the handball rule and Project Big Picture, it’s unsettling how ready the powers that be are to uproot and change the institutional foundations currently in place. Does it benefit fans? No- that’s a consideration of the 90’s and prior. All that matters is the bottom line these days... ah the Americanization of football

It will probably happen at some point. It's been on the cards for a while and won't go away.It was probably not entirely co-incidence that Project Big Picture first raised its ugly head last week. There will no doubt be more to come in the way of carrots and sticks until eventually everyone caves in to the demands of FIFA, or whoever, and the big clubs. I have serious doubts as to whether the fans of Liverpool, United etc. want this. I think most supporters see European success as a bonus but still see the Premier League as the gold standard, and Liverpool and United fans get far more satisfaction from beating each other than beating, say, PSG or Real Madrid.

Liverpool and Manchester United back down from plan A and release a more diabolical plan B as posturing continues. Let them and their s***ty fans f*ck off. When they win bugger all season after season the interests of the glory supporters will start to lose interest and their entire business model will start to fail. FIFA and the owners of big clubs cant work out why the format of the Premier League and English Football is so popular as they simply can't understand the values of sport.

Over the last ten years or so Liverpool and Man.Utd have failed on numerous occasions to qualify for the Champions League and they don’t want that. They want to make sure the biggest teams are guaranteed to take part in European competition no matter where they finish in their domestic league. It’s the same reason why they brought in the Champions League in the first place. When it will all kick off is when they tell Tottenham, and probably Arsenal that they aren’t invited.

Football is just being screwed up at any given opportunity. Big Picture/Eurpoean PL Where will it end ? With a game we can longer have any affinity to ? I always worried about selling out to Foreign owners, more on the fact that they would pull their money and leave clubs bankrupt. As it turns out we should have concerned at them changing the dynamics. What is they say, be careful what you wish for, it may come true.

The Championship should be renamed the first division and the PL given the boot. What is remotely sporting about the premier league it is a mafia.
