For at least 100 years we have now had the Women's movement. Demanding equality, fairness, rights and resources for women.

Just a few questions :

- is it 'job done' and no longer relevant ?

- what works still needs to be done ?

- is the pendulum of men's rights swinging back ?

- what examples from countries like Sweden ?

- where does it fit in the Left vs Right paradigm ?

- what are the alternatives to Feminism ?

- the role of the Media, Academia, Corporations, and Politicians.

- other thoughts ?

I think feminism is in dire trouble and we are all going to be the poorer for it. Look at the vast majority of vitriol around this trans-lunacy aimed at people such as J.K.Rowling and so on.

It is women who are being told that they have to give up their safe spaces, it is women who are told that if you have the name 'Karen', then it is open season on you and it is women who find themselves having their careers threatened if they dare oppose whatever the latest letter is added to the deviant alphabet.

We should be defending feminists. They fought bloody hard for all sorts of rights and given how many women are murdered and raped every year, they truly need our support now more than ever.

I agree with this women's rights are going backward and the threat is not from misogynistic men much as Margaret Atwood would love us to believe.

It is the LGBTQ community who are eroding their rights on one side and religious extremists from the other end. My criticism of those who support women's rights is the failure to recognise this.

They screen #metoo in support of highly paid Hollywood stars who may or may not have had an unpleasant encounter and yet say nothing on Asian grooming gangs, FGM and the lack of womens rights in many countries around the world. As for the Trans Lobby very few feminists are brave enough to take them on and f they do their sisters stay silent whilst they are eviscerated.

So much for the sisterhood.

One more point

I thought that originally the point of feminism was about providing women with more options in life. To an extent that's a good development but of course...it didn't stop at the sensible.

Much of the later feminism seemed to be about attacking masculinity and sneering at women who prefer more traditional lives or roles. The ridiculous idea that women would be happier within traditional male roles within the rat race, working those hours....It might have been better for a minority of women but its result appears to have made women less, nor more content.

A good mother is an essential building block for any of us and later feminism's deconstruction of these roles has caused untold damage. Instead women should have always have had this role celebrated as the vital and indispensable job it is.

Many women in their late thirties or in their forties listened to feminism and didn't have children. It's a lifestyle 'choice' that most of them have decades to repent on. Most of them will weirdly and wrongly point fingers at men to deflect from their own choices but the reality is that they listened to idealism and short term thinking and it set them on a disastrous road to loneliness and irrelevance.

Feminism reached it's goal, and then pushed for more.

The problem is not about rights anymore. The rights are pretty much established. And this is true for race, disability, and sexuality issues. The problem now is the enforced quotas for employers, and hate laws.

Both are a nonsense.

Matov, domestic violence isn't a feminist issue, many males suffer it. Honour killings and forced marriage are cultural issues. And murder is pretty much legislated for worldwide. As for genital mutilation, it is used on all orthodox male jews, and nobody blinks an eye, yet FGM is illegal in this country, maybe others which I haven't checked.
