Great servant for the club. Deserves respect. You’ll often find his prints on goal conceded. His passing is atrocious, his footballing nous too. He more often than not is responsible for a move breaking down. Sentiment does that keep us in the Premier League. We need a better right-back. I would even place a match-fitness lacking Clyne in their until Ferguson is deemed ready to play.

Bad game yes, but he was pretty good in the previous two. He was crap at the end of last season. My own feeling is he's an average squad player and probably shouldn't be playing every game. He's bang in trouble against pacy wingers, and many have pointed out his attacking flaws. He was my favourite player a few years ago. I still think he does a good job. Certainly can't be criticised for lack of effort.

Come on guys, don't blame the man. After all he's only in there on a temporary basis until we find a replacement for AWB!!! Blame the management, not the player who's doing his best. It's either him or .......?

Ferguson will be first choice when fit and Ward will be back up. And we will be fortunate to have such a seasoned pro and great character in the squad. Today I actually thought was one of his better games in recent times and on the wrong end of a ludicrous decision.

He is an average right back. We are an average team. He is perfect for us.

I predict a plethora of attacking players to aim the ball at a defenders arm or hand as apposed to trying to score by aiming at the goal.Very few,if any 0-0's in the premier league this season.Mr Ward will not be the only defender to wish he was arm less!

He has just played 250 games! What utter rubbish to suggest he is or ever has been a liability. Far more reason to focus on his loyalty and determination - both excellent characteristics in a team based sport.

Did you not notice Mitchell was responsible for the first goal for switching off and losing his man, but you decided to slag off Ward instead, just because he was on the end of generally agreed ridiculous hand ball decision.

Didn't expect such a reactionary post after that atrocious VAR/referee decision. Joel Ward isn't good enough for a top half club. He's probably still good enough for us and is never injured.
