Not entirely sure we are seeking a LB, but we've been linked to Max Clark by the Daily Fail.

Mitchell has done very well, but we do have cover in others such as Jario, Kelly and Schlupp at a push.

Do we really need another leftie?

No. I don't think we do. Kelly is a stretch there...but we've got more than enough cover in

1. PVA
2. Mitchell
3. Jairo
4. Schluppy (not even at a push...he's decent there.)

It did also mention however that PVA is into the last year of his contract though. Which would then make a bit more sense.

However despite that I feel it's probably just the usual nonsense from the papers/ agents.

He does seem a very good young player, who would slot in well there, if PVA doesn't recover quickly and doesn't renew his contract or isn't offered one. But this looks premature and probs just agent speculation saying: look I have a good player on my hands who wants to get in the PL, and my fee is....!

I fully agree with this, but you wouldn't want his level of defensive ability their often. He's adequate, but he would would only play their imho if Ward, Kelly, Ferguson, Jairo or Dean Gordon were unfit to play.

PvA did say in a recent interview that PSV wanted him in January and that he wanted to return to his home country with his family, but that it wasn't want the club wanted at the time. Aside from a very mature and professional response from PvA in accepting that and continuing to work hard for the team, it does also suggest that if he can get fit in time we might choose to sell him now rather than lose him for free.

I’m curious are they not offering Clark a new deal or is it the case where he just hasn’t signed a new deal yet?

There was rumoured interest from Liverpool at one point I understand. I think perhaps while they were considering cover for Robertson.

Presumbly, because I assume the best in people, the willy is a local park and matTteo was able to get round him with a ball, right?

As per Petereagle's comment and link - end of thread, but PVA will need replacing during the next year or two at the age of 30.

Odd one when Hodgson is lauding Mitchell.

Personally, i am massively delighted with Mitchell so far, but wary as to whether he'll be found out positionally.

Thats why I like the idea of both our young full backs...Mitchell and Ferguson...competing with experienced pros who are nearing the end of their Palace careers. (Ward,Pva and I am fine with Clyne).

If their form or confidence wobbles, it's nice to think we'd have experienced players to bring in. We'd lose some energy but gain some consistency.

But it's also nice to think these boys can be the future and have a good fight to grab the shirt by right. Good for their confidence to keep experienced pros out.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Correct.

Back on topic, I may have misremembered the player he was enthused about.
