I remember him getting slaughtered on here and I took the effort to compile our stats comparing our goals for and against with him on the pitch vs off the pitch. It was something like Champions League with him on the pitch against rock bottom with him off the pitch. Guess Holloway didn't like him for whatever reason. Technically very good but was a little lightweight at the time.

At the time,I believe he was homesick for Spain and now being reported that he is desperate to leave Spain and play once again,in the Premiership.Probably,the attraction of playing for a great manager appeals??

Technically very good but was a little lightweight at the time. I liked him but you did well to make a case for him to say he was class for us... maybe underused. Looked up his stats - 308 mins across 6 appearances with 2 assists. That's not a lot to go on and if you dig deep you could probably extrapolate it to show all manner of outcomes. He showed promise for sure but it's taken him a good 5 or so seasons to get to the good and consistent level he's at now (and 5 clubs). You just don't get that time in the prem unfortunately, but at Levante he obviously found the right mix for him. It'll certainly be interesting to see how he does if he does make a return.

Looking at Wiki to see what he has done since leaving us and has flittered around on loan with small appearances for a number of clubs, before 2 seasons in the Spanish 2nd division and one in La Liga for a mid table club. Obviously Bielsa sees something in him. Maybe he can get more out of him than us under Ollies sweetshop. Be interesting to see. Let's hope he doesn't come back to bite us if he does come into the PL league.

I think he maybe one who got away. He never really settled much like Wilf in Manchester. He was very young and his English was apparently poor and Jules was only team member who spoke Spanish. He was subbed at half time i remember apparently after a dressing room clash and never played again
