I think I would prefer him to Benrahma, but 2 years ago maybe.

There's no way is there? We don't sign aging French midfielders who play for PSG.

Looks like guesswork to fill newspaper space to me with absolutely no facts to back up any aspects of the story

He's a holding midfielder and Benrahma is a winger for one thing.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

We definitely have a shortage of them

Maybe if it was a loan, but can't see us paying any big fees for players over 30, plus his wage is probably fairly high.

How do you know which position Roy is going to waste talent in?

You're right, I meant in terms of what we might spend the last of our budget on. Gueye's proven, but he doesn't fit the profile of what we are aiming to do with our squad.

Actually I think he does. We were keen to bring Gallagher in on loan to provide extra dynamism in midfield, and now that that isn't happening there's a bit of a gap? But I don't see this happening. If we had already got Benrahma in, then maybe, if he was 25, but at 30 he's an expensive luxury

No way this is happening. Palace are looking to decrease the age of players in the squad not increase it. The guy is 30 and on high wages.

The article is suggesting that PSG need to balance the books and offload him, while that might convince some that a transfer fee could be within our reach, I highly doubt Gueye would be willing to take a wage cut to convenience his employers.

Like most people, if he were to become a Palace player I would be over the moon. As although we have a ton of defensively minded midfielders, he is a cut above anyone we have.

I certain this is just fabricated column inches but honestly I like it when higher profile players are linked (even fictitiously), as it does get people considering our pedigree in the league.

Gueye is completely different to Benrahma. Gueye is a box to box Kante type. Benrahma is more skillful who will hurt opponents in the final third.

...Unless it's a loan and PSG cover some of his wages.

That said, we have a feast of talent in DM but look at the ages. Posters moan when we are linked with yet another DM, but if they were 22 and of the right quality surely we should be looking?

This one for a 1-2 season loan to plug the gap. But...

...he will go to Spam.
