It was an odd press conference. 12 hours after the event, in a city centre now doubt teeming with CCTV, multiple stabbings which seem to be strangers and no description of a suspect? Not even a gender? Now it is easy to get involved in the game of blaming suspects who suit your own specific agenda but something seems bizarre about this. Seen some chatter that it might have been gay people stabbed which would fit in with the location but I guess we will all need to see. Also reports of a mass brawl as well which does not fit in with the notion of one suspect but I guess all will be revealed.

The lack of a description of the person they are after is almost certainly because he is not white.

Maybe as Birmingham has a high percentage of BAME residents it could have been a race crime against those communities. We just do not know and speculate to promote any political agenda does not help. Whatever it was a tragedy and sadly someone lost their life.

All of which I get but 12 hours after the event, with the person who did the stabbing still at large, and in an area now doubt well covered with CCTV, the idea of not issuing a description of the person they are looking for makes very little sense.

There are massive racial issues between Asians and the black community in Brum. It could be being kept quiet due to that. Regular violence and riots. There was a rape followed by Mosque burnings, followed by street violence, then riots a few years ago.
