I cannot believe with the premiership about to start we haven’t even looked close to signing a striker .With one of the worst scoring teams last season giving chance after chance to Benteke Enough is enough get him out of the club and bring in someone who can score

Well we can only hope that we will sign one before the window shuts.. In my opinion we need two... We all know Benteke is s***e. Only positive was that his link up play was decent last season to be fair however, we need goals and have done for quite some time... I would be stunned and disgusted if we failed to sign another striker.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Just because there's nothing in the papers doesn't mean nothing's happening.

Chelsea have just paid out another £70m so hopefully the will be looking to offload Bats.

I reckon they will want too much for him. I am also unsure as to whether he has the effort rating to play in a Hodgson team on a regular basis. Although he scored a few on loan he went missing in a lot of matches as well. There has to be younger better value out there.

Seems like we have been linked with loads of strikers but no one through the door again.

You missed out the word "yet" from the end of your sentence.

Parish may be a tight fisted wad but he isn't stupid and he must know that without a reliable goal scorer we will be staring relegation in the face

Slightly off topic as far as CPFC is concerned, BUT, Glen Murray has joined Watford on loan(BbcSport). That went under the radar, if only he was 5-6 years younger.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

No chance we will go for Bats, he is too expensive and on big wages. We are trying to bring in players on lower wages and under 25. We really need to move Benteke and Wickham on but understandably there are no takers. You can add Sakho to that list too.

OR we really need to find a way to play to their strengths. All about perspective.

I like Ayew. He has our belief now and I could see him bagging 15-20 goals this year if he turns out to be our main man.

I could see us going for bats, however the wages part means that it will be on deadline day thus saving us 1m in wages between now and the close. If we did get him, would be a bad bit of business for the club having in the red and blue two of the 5 season of his chelsea deal. We do need to be looking at a long term striker and whilst the market it low, this is the season to pounce

I agree and with Eze we have a chance to play in balls they can use, but of course they're both injuredatm
