I wonder who it could be...

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I hope it"s nothing to do with the ex CONservative mp for Dover who was found guilty of sexual assault only last week, his poor wife, the sitting CONservative mp has been through enough ! I sincerely doubt it was him, and as the posts that follow will rightly point out, nobody has been charged and thus is innocent, rightly so! So I for one don"t want to continue speculating on last weeks ex CONservative mp"s sexual assault conviction for the sake of his CONservative mp"s wife, and nor should you! Actually, not suggesting it has anything to do with CONservative mp"s husband, the ex CONservative mp for Dover, so which new CONservative mp is it? Whoever he or she is, one things for certain, it"s a CON!

I was hoping it was my MP. I feel utterly bum-f***ed every time he gets re-elected.
Conviction rates for rape are ridiculously low, and given the fact there will be minimal forensic evidence, I think the worst that will happen is his reputation (when his name comes out) will get a mullering for 5 minutes.

I disengage, I turn the page.

I find it odd that the MP is accused of rape / sexual assault on 4 separate occasions of the same person. Why on earth did they not report it after the first time?

Obviously we don't know any facts but it just seems odd that's all.

It was just an error of judgement in the parliamentary office after a boozy lunch-just business my lad!

'It is likely to increase pressure on Tory Chief Whip Mark Spencer, who failed to take action against the MP, who cannot be named for legal reasons, when he was told about the allegations a month ago.'

[Link]

The accused will surely have to have whip removed thereby providing his identity to all of us.

Just wonder how up-to-date the following also is given other allegations reported in recent months:

Luckily we have Opposition parties that are squeaky clean!
If found guilty hope he gets a long prison sentence, as deserved. Although with the old school tie network who knows.
Having said that he wouldn’t be the first person to be set up in similar circumstances ( not saying this is the case, as I know nothing about the case)

Why is it odd? Could well have been a young intern or someone who needed a job and was scared of someone in a position of power. These things happen quite often in the real world.

What is important is that it has been reported and can be investigated properly. Not prejudging the outcome.

The young woman was probably challenged with every possible threat imaginable , not least being protected by The Establishment. The way that too many of the latter deem themselves to be 'untouchable' and 'above the law' is utterly repugnant. They are after all public servants employed to serve the general public.

No Cliff Richard style name and shame and helicopter over the house then? The luxury of being an MP. One rule for them, one for the rest.
