Black Lives Matter is a political organisation with an extreme left wing anti capitalist / anarchic mission statement. In the UK there are two BLM groups, one is closely allied with the Socialist Workers Party.

If the PL knows this then the decision to put on shirts is bizarre, if they don't know then shame on them for bandwagon jumping.

The irony is BLM is diametrically opposed to the obscene money circulating in the PL.

This is akin to PL telling players to wear messages about Palestine or Israel.

Nobody in their right mind can be other than horrified by the killing of Mr Floyd in the USA, but the current zeitgeist is any criticism of BLM is automatically racist.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Bringing politics into sport is a very very bad move.

BLM is not just about educating regarding 'racism',it goes way beyond that.

The PL is yet another organisation pandering to the emperor new clothes effect and it has to stop.

Political expediency is all around and none of this bears any relation to reality.

This is not something I would do. As I have posted elsewhere I think it's the wrong message which perpetuates a problem rather than solving it. "All lives matter" would be better, although I suspect some in the anti-abortion movement would then try to hi-jack the intent.

That said I don't believe the PL is actually associating themselves politically with the BLM organisation.

They are associating themselves with the words and their meaning.

I agree, but don't we already have 'Kick it out' etc?

Why the need to align with a far-left political movement?

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

And what is that meaning? Division.

Exactly football has it's own anti racist organisation which they now appear to be side lining for a far left bunch of Marxists.

Your very first line is incorrect which affects your whole post. BLM is not an organisation, it's effectively a philosophy as with 'Me Too'.

We can only guess but I suppose it's a reaction to events and to show solidarity with the many players who feel strongly about the issue.

As I said, I don't think they are associating themselves with a political movement. They are using words which convey a sentiment.

Not in any way. Unless the one hearing it seeks to divide.

Wouldn't it have been nice to see NHS/Care 'Thank You' emblazoned on the shirts instead of the players names but the PL have jumped on the BLM bandwagon.

"We stand together" T-shirts, taking a knee etc etc etc
The only time this will apply to me is when I genuflect and kneel in my church and stand with the rest of the congregation.
