Predicting the demise of both the single currency project and the EU itself has long been a subject of debate and to be fair to both, much like the predictions of the imminent collapse of Glaciers and so on by the Green loons, many have proven incorrect.

But post this current crisis?

Not sure.

If I had to go out on a limb and make predictions I suspect that it will be the success, or an almost 50-50 vote, for Le Pen in 2022 in France that finally collapses it all.

France itself is heading for even more major civil strife and throw in an Italy in which Salvini has to be odds on favourite to take full control and the internal EU pressures will bring about a messy implosion.

Simply put this crisis is going to break Italy and Greece due to the collapse of this year's tourist business and with a possibility of dragging on into 2021. Spain could be in huge trouble and all nations without the ability to control their own currency by way of trying to alleviate the worst of it.

This virus has the potential to be as history-changing as both World War 1 & 2.

Interesting. I have previously suggested that the UK was used as a shield by other countries who were content to let us take the heat but that now we have left they have to speak up if they disagree.

The myth of EU unity with the UK as the only trouble maker is now being exposed.

Think I've gone on record before as forecasting that the EU will collapse after the next round of general elections due in 2021 in Germany, France, Holland and Austria due to there going to have been a deep recession (if not a depression) by then, with the encumbent governments being turfed out despite them not actually being able to do anything about it, and the Eurosceptic parties in opposition gaining power.

The single currency will come under threat before that with the Italian debt crisis and quite possibly a French debt crisis as well as Spanish etc.

The world will look different in many ways after Corona though. Many things that we took for granted just two months ago won't exist any more.

Oh, and after the Great Depression of 1929, the world only really recovered after the Second World War was over. With the general geopolitical state of the world going into this crisis (emergence of China, submergence - relatively of the US, insecurity of the EU and resurgence of Russian nationalism) it is a fair bet to expect a version of WW3 to eventually re-set the world.

Looking on the cheery side, like

Not absolutely sure until we can't do them, but simple things like travel, going to the pub or eating out etc. They'll still happen, but our choices will be decimated.

And being able to talk to people without shouting. This 2 metres apart stuff has only just started.

With all pubs closing for good, we probably have to queue to go in to the local, one in, one out!Never thought i would queue to get in lidl and iceland, so anythings possible!

- people wiping, spraying, sterilizing everything
- paranoia at Borders about viruses
- health certificates and bureaucracy
- regulation of the BioTech industry
- backup contingency of healthcare for the next virus
- Martial Law...the precedent has now been set.

Not sure about ryanair, made over a billion profit this last year, and nationwide just announced stopping mortgages to anyone without 25% to put down, so maybe house prices could fall or stagnate, but agree with you that the double or treble kiss could be on the way out!

Probably, and the majority will say they earned it, unfortunately!
