There was a forecast on the news today that a consequence of the corona outbreak, and particularly the isolation of individuals and families, will see a massive spike in divorce rates when this is all over. They're likening it to the spikes seen after Christmas and Summer holidays. Got me thinking, if someone is having an affair, and they or the other party needs to self-isolate, that'll put an incredible strain on the existing relationship when they'll need to be cooped up with the person that they've been doing the dirty on. One of many unintended consequences in all of this. Another will be the fall in street crime that will inevitably occur when no-one's allowed out. No doubt the Government will claim that they've beaten violent crime. It will probably be offset however in a rocketing of supermarket delivery drivers being robbed outside homes and subsequent delivery van jackings.
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

the only men getting married these days are losers who cannot get it for free. so they indenture themselves, their future salary, their house, pension, their inheritance...everything, even their sanity. Betting on a contract that has already shown itself to be null and void. clever men will never get divorced. Unmarried couples (with kids ) stay together longer than many married couples these days. And footballer's wives always stick in the knife after the playing career is over. Edited by PalazioVecchio (19 Mar 2020 5.03pm)
