This might be interesting to some folks on here...
the internet archive website has loads of old c64 games from the 80s that you can just play online. Some of them are easier to access than others tho.

Stunt car racer was an amazing racing game for 1989 on a machine like that.

They usually run from DOS. I used to play C64 games on the PC. I used a program called DOS box. Can't remember the exact command to start the games - believe it was Run"" or something like that. Look it up on the Internet.

Some of the games just run but I'm on a laptop so Im not sure whether its the same on a tablet. But yeah, some games run and others don't but I think from the sound of things they only work on a laptop or PC.

That is because the tape you are loading it from has a drop-out. Rewind the tape for 3 seconds, and press 'play'. In anther 5 minutes or so, you'll be ready to go.

Else you haven't got enough memory to run the game, so perhaps you should consider purchasing a RAMPAK ?

Probably due to the fact im running it on a mac book. that said, they run ok, main screen comes up, but the keyboard has no effect. strangerer and strangerer.

Wow. Ancient English dialect.

I do believe though, that the RAM pack was a ZX Spectrum only accessory. Can't recall the C64 equivalent.

Edit: Georam is what you need for C64. 512k more ram I believe.

I used to think Red Storm Rising and F15 Strike Eagle were so realistic.
