Two Ronnies joke - Tonight we talk to a lady who likes Nicholas Parsons and to a parson who likes knickerless ladies.

So sad to hear about this news. Nicholas Parsons was a legend and an icon, one of the greats. He was also a truly charming and lovely gentleman who will be missed by many. God rest his soul in peace. Edited by Willo (28 Jan 2020 12.11pm)

A few months ago I saw a repeat of a bbc programme of his life in a dish or something where the tv chef cooks meals from his past after visiting houses he grew up in. His dad was a GP up to 7 or 8pm I think in their 3-4 storey house on what has now become what looks like a 4 lane road going NW out of London and I think his first marital home in a cottage on Hampstead Heath.

Sure he was a lovely chap though. Actor, TV and radio show presenter and author, with a career that started back in the 1950's. Bit more of a claim to icon and legend than a lot of footballers! oh, and always the perfect gentleman. Shame he never got more recognition than a CBE. Great entertainer. RIP

NP certainly was a legend and icon. To those of us that still listen to the radio Shame at 96 (and still working until very recently) he never made it to Sail of his Century. I guess all we have to wait for now is someone claiming NP touched them in the 1970's (of all places) Edited by Forest Hillbilly (28 Jan 2020 3.08pm)

An old school pro who had been around in show business a lot longer than I have been alive. Will always remember him in Mr Jolly Lives Next Door and Sale of the Century of course.

Still sharp at 96, a perfect foil to the many panellists on Just a Minute. He had outlived quite a few of them. If I get to his age with marbles still intact I will be Sadly missed.
