I heard today that Palace are looking at this guy as a replacement for Zaha if a substantial bid comes in for Wilf this month. Apparently he wants out of China and sees Palace as a possible move.

Carrasco has a huge salary in China. It's not even as much as the transfer fee (which would also be big- around 20 million, but let's say he IS a good player and he deserves that). But he has around 10 million salary per year. That's like 180.000 a week. Even if he would be willing to lower his demands just to come back to Europe, he'd still want a lot. He asked AC Milan for a 9-10 million salary last winter: [Link] And I'd rather have players who come to a bigger salary than those who give up money to come here. It's just a different mentality and a different style of sacrifice for those feeling they need to earn the money instead of just playing like girlies who complain they gave up money to be on the pitch.

Latest on the rumour is that we are certainly interested and in 'prime position' to sign Carrasco. He does actually want to come to us as well, will take a pay cut and we are looking to broker the deal or some kind of player swap (don't know who that'd be to be honest, we don't have any). I'll believe it when I see, but just relaying what someone sent me this morning. They were right when we got Warnock in, so just because it isn't on BBC gossip, doesn't mean there isn't an element of truth in it. Would imagine this is the Wilf replacement ahead of his summer move.

Latest on the rumour is that we are certainly interested and in 'prime position' to sign Carrasco.

He does actually want to come to us as well, will take a pay cut and we are looking to broker the deal or some kind of player swap (don't know who that'd be to be honest, we don't have any).

They were right when we got Warnock in, so just because it isn't on BBC gossip, doesn't mean there isn't an element of truth in it.

I have concerns when players return from China, as the quality of football is, presumably not that good. I suppose if he does not like living in China taking a pay cut is the only way out.

I have concerns when players return from China, as the quality of football is, presumably not that good. I suppose if he does not like living in China taking a pay cut is the only way out.

I went to see a top flight match in 2013 (admittedly years ago) and the standard was LOL. To the extent I was confident if Calvin Andrew was there he would have been the star of the show.
