Currently in 17th place in the Championship, a Rooney led Derby, this game could be a potential banana skin for us,although I'm going for a 2-0 win for us.

Depends on what sort of team we put out.If it's mainly youngsters we could be looking at a defeat. reluctantly I forecast 0-1

I tend to agree. I'll be surprised if Roy doesn't rest the bulk of the first team squad. We know Wickham is scheduled to play and I expect Pierrick, Meyer and Hennessey will. Beyond those four names, your guess is as good as (or probably better than) mine.
predicted score? Depends on what Derby do but I see another Colchester result in view, but at least we should get to see some of the youngsters get a good number of minutes.

Stole my comment!

I would not be too disappointed if we give the lads a rest and let the u23s have a go. Predict a loss to 0 but more concerned with league this year so wouldn't cry about it.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Given we are less likely to be involved in a relegation scrap this season, I hope we give the Cup a go.

From our senior squad I’d imagine Hennessy, Riedewald, Meyer, Wickham, McCarthy will play then I’d say the rest will be kids. We can take no more chances with injuries. If we weren’t crucified with injuries then I’d be looking forward to a good cup run but Il under the circumstances il take it on the chin if we get knocked out.

We are still right in the mix for a relegation scrap along with 12 other teams. This is going to be a strange season with decent sides going down.

This absolutely. We all want to see what talent we have, this is a perfect opportunity against fairly decent opposition.

I would like to see a young side out and if we lose we lose.
Our injury situation is more important than the FA Cup right now

Very difficult to guess. I suspect it will be a makeshift sort of team with some youngsters, perhaps Wickham getting a start along with Wayne and, dare I say it, Camarasa ( if he hasn't been sent back by then).

I usually like Palace to take the competition seriously but given our current injury woes I think we should be very careful about putting out current 1st teamers.

Of course, a lot depends on what sort of side Derby put out. They are mid table but neither safe from relegation nor without hope of a play off spot especially with Rooney joining. They may want to play their youngsters as well

Roy has tended to mostly put out surprisingly decent cup sides, but right now I just can't see him rolling the dice anywhere in defence. And even in midfield or attack I struggle to see him exposing established first teamers to greater injury risk.

So I think they'll win unless they do similar.
