Does anybody think Roy will get his wish of 4 or 5 new players in January, or is he aiming high to get a couple in and put the board under pressure.

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

If Zaha is sold early in the window, I suppose there is a chance we could acquire the numbers Hodgson has said he needs. If not, then possibly a player or two costing modest sums, topped up with a loan or two.But the Board of course might have other ideas given the points we have accrued thus far! There is a wider picture.

Will Hodgson actually be at the club next season ?

Agree with these points.

We’ll do well if 2 players come in, even then we won’t be paying any noteworthy sums.

Feels as though the club are ready to wait until we are literally unable to name a match day squad before they’d even consider investing in playing staff.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

If he gets any, I imagine it will be in the last hour of the transfer window and it will be a holding midfielder.

I have no clue but I don't think we will be doing any substantial business unless we sell Wilf first.

Considering how long they have had the striker, and full back problem, three players should have been negotiated for already during the season up to now. To come in within a week or so. If not and they are waiting for something to fall off the tree, as has seemed the case in recent windows. Then Roy, must be gutted ,with the rest of us. In his case who knows where that will go.

There is no imperative to buy. We won't go down and aspire for no more than mid table and a healthy balance sheet.

Priority remains infrastructure improvement and raising non TV revenue.

I predict a loan and stop gap buy. Add that to the 4 players predicted to return from injury next month or early February and 2 more a month later and that should enable us to meet our modest target.

I expect a bunch of loans with maybe 1 full signing

Nobody in. In 9th place with all those injuries. Having them back will be like signing 5+ new players

Out. Maybe Dann to a promotion-challenging Championship side and Hennessey to a relegation threatened Premier side

If Zaha leaves, Pedro on loan until the end of the season

Finish 17th and Hodgson retires to Iceland before the next season

I believe Roy will get all the players he has asked for.

I also believe Margot Robbie will accept my offer of a dirty weekend in Margate.

Given the problems Dougie alluded to in people overpricing their players in light of our AWB windfall, there is the possibility the murmurs of no cash are a smokescreen (we can hope). Imagine if the board came out and said "We're giving Roy €40m to spend in January". Instantly clubs would add a premium.

I appreciate there is more chance we do in fact have little money ready to spend, but I'm feeling optimistic
