I see that the 27 year old man on trial for murdering Grace Millane cannot be named for legal reasons. Does anyone know why?

It's in another country, isn't it? Maybe they have anonymity for defendants. Maybe because there's a 'sexual' element, then they have anonymity.

He has now been found guilty but according to the BBC still can't be named for legal reasons. Most odd

Purely a guess but I am wondering if because this case is being tried in Australia and they have our Queen as head of state then perhaps the sub-judice rules apply over here as well? He might have another trial due to start? Some legal aracanary around the idea of Regina v ?

It's every parent of a daughter's nightmare. Lone female backpackers always carry that extra risk....but I'm not going to blame her as it could have happened here walking in the park. It's about that one in a hundred psychopath who's always out there.....which is perhaps a higher percentage in certain situations.

I guess that he could be involved in another trial. He is due to be sentenced in February which seems a long way off. Poor woman and poor family.

A Horrendous situation. The only good that can be taken from it is that this monster didn't get away with it.
