Just went to British Legion website to order my annual Poppy/Club crest, only to be told effectively, that this year, of the 20 premier league clubs Crystal Palace are the only one that did not give permission for the badge to be used. not a good advert for the clubs P.R. I feel. Perhaps someone from the Club could comment

Can't believe this, does that mean no shirt auction?

I still have a Palace poppy pin and just make a new donation every year. If we really withheld permission to use the logo that is Fecking disgusting and should be broadcast.

Let’s wait and see the reason before pointing fingers, there was definitely a joint poppy pin last year and they are doing the shirt auction this year again.

Looking at the site there are plenty of teams not listed it may just be a simple low demand from last year or a limit to how many different teams they have the capacity to produce.

Just go to the rbl site purchase a normal pin or put the money in the tin.

I used the word " If " as not 100% clear. I sent @CEO4TAG a direct question on Twitter and await to see if I have the courtesy of a reply

I will be volunteering again next week.

My experience of the salaried staff at the British Legion is not good. This year our area co-ordinator another volunteer has stepped down and his replacement is also suggesting she will so as well. The reason because of the incompetence of HQ.

In short they don't know what they are doing, apart from earning a living out of it, so don't assume it's the club who are at fault. It would not surprise me in the least if HQ screwed up.

maybe a temporary poppy would obscure our eagle insigna or the sponsor's logo?

So a few words from the Club to clarify would be reasonable.

I would be pleased to know the Club I support is not giving less support to the British Legion than others.

No, but hardly a surprise there.
