basically its a MGTOW terminology for allegedly being in a relationship with somebody but not getting your oats.

restaurants ? yes
help with the DIY ? yes
walks in the park ? yes
visits to their family ? yes
unofficial taxi service ? yes

nookie ? no thanks.

any self-respecting MTGOW-er will walk away after the first 24 hours, but the literature abounds with stories of people who have lived in the friendzone for 20 or 30 years.

what stories have you ?

Any proper mate would rip the p1ss out of you for doing this for any length of time and years ago plenty would have.

This is a post in the reddit link and says all.

‘Here's the thing, the "friend zone" doesn't really exist. Allow me to explain......

Men and women cannot relate to each other...at least not on a "friends" level.

Let's be honest, women are only "friends" with guys because they are maybe attracted to them on some level and they LOVE attention and orbiters.

Men are only "friends" with women because they either want to f*** them, or they want a relationship with them. That's it.

Sure, a few genuine friendships MIGHT slip through the cracks (where neither party is sexually interested in/or attracted to each other, and they have similar interests), but that's the exception, not the rule.

As a straight male, do you genuinely want to hear about gossip, who she's dating, her period cycle, her leg-shaving tips, the newest Kardashian episode? What's that you say? No? Good. Then, you probably shouldn't be "just friends" with females.

When I was growing up, you were a man and you had male friends. Women were women, and they had female friends. In my opinion, this is more in tune with nature.

The whole intersex friends thing really became popular when liberalism exploded on the scene. In my humble opinion, it's a false liberal idea, and like most of their ideas, it isn't natural or feasible.

Because, guess what? As soon as your female "friend" gets a boyfriend, she will be nowhere to be found.’

Put a different spin on this. If your intention was to become just friends, how would a mate react if you were calling his girlfriend or wife up a lot and you were becoming best friends?

to be fair I have known a few young ladies who are getting their oats but like to have a few male friends as sort of eunuchs, I've never accepted the eunuch role

Common sense.

Spent most of my younger life in the friend zone. Thing is, nobody said you can't be friends with benefits innit. Anything else would be a waste.

Yes I think we've all been there, but you have to know when you've missed your 'windows of opportunity' and move on. There's nothing sadder than some limpet latching onto something that is never going to happen.

I don’t know what your problem is.

My Mrs and I don’t have sex and aren’t even friends!

What is MGTOW?

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Genuinely feel sorry for you thinking this is true.
