Simple debate: What qualifies?

I disagree at this stage, but it has been used already since Saturday in referring to Mr Ayew on a couple of threads or Tweets. I can imagine that 2 in 2 doesn't quite qualify as I am sure Mr Benteke has achieved as much (haven't checked this). The difference being effort.

So who qualifies and why, or is this really in the eye of the beholder?

Andrew?
Salad?
Vince?
Clinton?
Kenny?
Darren?
Nigel?
Jim?
Geoff?
Johnny?
Don?

Is it appearances? Bandages? Ability? Effort?
Just keen to learn your thoughts.

From your list the bottom 4.
Thomas
Byrne
Rodgers
Cannon

Tho you could add Coppel to the list.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

A cult hero to me is a player who is not the best player in your team but the fans love them for their own unique characteristics.

Example: Eric Young

Surely Damien Delaney fits the bill as well as anybody. Unwanted by Ipswich, he came to us on a short-term contract, which lasted 6 years! Played nearly 200 games. And brought joy to us all with that first Palace goal in the 3-3 draw with Liverpool, and with his belligerent treatment of that foreign maniac at Stamford Bridge.

Agree with that, although Vince was a real cult hero and was an excellent player. AJ too.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Tomas Brolin - indeed a fat, slow slug, but he was our fat, slow slug.

This is the sort of thing I was hoping for. Some very good suggestions on here and you could go all day.
