No we didn't.

He's not joining until Jan either.

So are you happy with Cahill? Same age but arguably Rooney is was a better more decorated footballer. Plus we need a striker , even in Jan, rather than a cb.

I would of taken him

Bit surprised we didn't try and go for him unless we just didn't know.

Even if it's only one year deal i think he could of added something to the squad not even as a starter but coming off the bench this guy knows how to link up play and put the ball in the net

Would think his wages would bust the ffp threshold on its own.

If we had Simon Jordan in charge, he would be signing for us! He would have loved signing someone like Rooney.

Actually, he is totally a Hodgeson kind of player too! Is it too late for us to pinch him?

It's an interesting development but seems a bit quirky, and only from Jan too. Glad we steered well clear.

This was mentioned on Talksport. Apparently he will be on 80k per week but a large chunk of that will be as a coach which means that part of his salary doesn't count in FFP.

It shows you how ridiculous FFP rules are, the whole point of them is to stop clubs spending money they don't have. It's irrelevant if the money is spent on the tea lady or a player it's your overall outgoing expenses that count.

Well I didn't know that distinction - does he have any coaching badges I wonder.

Great-grandfathers of Derby; lock up your daughters after Christmas.

£90k a week, half being for "coaching". I wonder if 32Bet will be paying him too. Not long ago he was on £300k a week at United.

Money aside, I think we will do well for derby.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
