This one seems to be doing the rounds. "There is also the issue which the Evening Standard brought up back in January that Gary Cahill’s £130,000-a-week wages may have to be met if he refuses to lower his demands, which could be a big burden for a club like Palace to take on." It is all speculative at this stage, but the above paragraph seems odd given the signing on fee for a free agent would potentially alleviate the pressure of having to earn as high as 130k weekly. Unless I have missed something. It would be a burden for us given we have other donkey's earning similar (ref: HOL guessestimates), but if he can still do a job are we interested?
So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet. |

He says he wants to be a starting 11 player, so if Sakho and Tomkins are fit then he clearly isn't. So for this reason alone I would say this is a non starter for us.

130k a week is enough to say no, already paying out several juicy salaries

Let's be realistic.. He hasnt got a club so of course he cant demand 130k a week.. If wages were sensible I would take him certainly as a back up with how injury prone Tomkins and Sahko are.
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

Too much of a luxury. Sakho and Tompkins are our best two central defenders.

Very happy with the Sakho/Tomkins pairing, especially as we need to spend money elsewhere in the team. Can't bring in a player on Cahill's salary when he's not an absolute must-have in the team.

Could only see him coming in if Sakho was leaving and I don't think we could handle potentially losin AWB, Wilf and Sakho in the same window.

Cahill's past his best & if demanding sky-high wages would be playing on past glories. Not good enough in my opinion - save your money Parish. Besides, we need forward players much more than defensive workhorses like him.

No defenders owing to injury, sorry Danny not good enough now, Kelly squad player, this could be a move we are forced into, as no club fee involved
