NY Yankees vs Boston Red Sox. Is anyone going at all?

I've been offered a ticket, but turned it down.

The Olympic stadium is an arsehole to get to and it kicks off at 6pm. I'm also led to believe that unless you're behind home plate, it's impossible to see the ball as it travels at light speed.

I went to the American football at Wembley and it just seemed like a lot of downtime (almost perfect for TV) and silly distractions like mascots and t shirt guns to stop the spectators twigging nothing is happening. I imagine this could be the same but with a lot more swinging and missing.

I'd love to see the Yankees or the Sox in America, it's on the bucket list, but this feels a bit forced for me. We don't really do sports "entertainment" like the yanks. Probably a lot better on their manor.

I live a mile away from Yankee Stadium & If I cross the East River I can be at Citi field in 40 minutes home to the Mets. I've been to both stadiums but never watched Baseball only (Proper) Football & College Football.
I have tried hard to get into Baseball but a bit like Cricket It kind of just washes over me, that said when one of those pitches come at you at around 90/95 MPH that must take some skill to knock a ball coming at you at that speed.
I get Yankee tix quite often but always give them to a friend who's Dominican & they are fanatical about the game.

Baseball is the only reason I have BT sport. One stat that stands out is that Cal Ripken Jnr played 2632 consecutive games (he’s the anti-Wickham) in a sport where injuries are very hard to avoid.
Ironically the player he took the record from was Lou Gehrig who came to an unfortunate end.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I’m a Red Sox fan ( I was born in Boston )but I’m not going to the games.

I don’t like the stadium and unless you pay heavily for the top price tickets you won’t get a decent view.

Now I’m naturally biased of course, but if you do go to a game in the States then I recommend an evening game at Fenway Park.

I saw the Red Sox play the Astros there a few weeks ago and paid $100 for a terrific view.

In San Diego a couple of years back. Took the opportunity to go see The Padres. That’s 3 hours of my life I won’t get back.

Lots of nothing happening apart from the crowd consuming enormous amounts of food !

I'm planning a trip to NYC for my tenth wedding anniversary in a couple of years and have a Yankee game on the to-do list. Is it right that I want to get seats in line with the batter (behind him) for the best view?

Terrific view being where in relation to the batsman?

Advice appreciated.

So I bought seats in Lodge Box 141 - that gave me a clear view of the Pitcher and Hitter.

I've only ever been to Fenway Park, the Yankees stadium is I believe far bigger.
