few movies can touch 'The Shining' , or the original Salem's Lot for suspense and shock.

so, what movies moved your bowels in more recent times ?

1. Babadook.
2. The Ring

Kayla did Anfield & Old Trafford

Martyrs. 2008

That is the French version and NOT the crappy American remake.
Either watch it dubbed in English or in French with subtitles. I watched both and preferred the English voices.

I Spit on Your Grave (2010) I think the original was around 1980.
Not everyone's sort of film but I liked it.

I thought the first 2 saw films were good but then turned a bit crap after those.

I like the first two hostel films and I don't think you can beat the exorcist for demonic intent also the original wicker Man

if we're talking last 20 yrs then obviously no exorcist, shining, salems lot, omen etc etc.
fairly recent, the 1st conjuring film is good, 30 days of night is entertaining.
looking forward to seeing the new pet cemetery remake soon.

Kids, tired of being bothered by your pesky parents?
Then leave home, get a job & pay your own bills, while you still know everything.

All well worth watching. Babadook and The Ring have their detractors but I enjoyed them both. Another one in recent years that's worth watching is It Follows.

Don't Breathe from a couple of years back was quite suspenseful but also slightly f*cked up. No spoilers!

I’d have to agree with ‘The Ring’ and I quite liked ‘Jeepers Creepers’

If we can include foreign movies, then South Korean Zombie movie Train to Busan is also worth a watch [Link]
