Computex 2019 happens in the small hours and will be kicked off by Lisa Su the CEO of AMD.

She will be delivering the keynote of the show and giving a presentation to be called 'The Next Generation of High-Performance Computing'.....which to those of us in the 'whispered' know will be the launch of the next generation of cpu chips on the Ryzen 3000 series.

Anybody else excited by this?

Just be aware that for us computer nerds.....this event is pretty horny.

Like sex with that bird you always fancied but never thought you'd get a look in with......Well ok....not quite as good as that.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I have some (in their day) superfast processors in some of my machines, never go near using them to their fullest capacity.

When punters ask me what computer to buy I tell them pretty much any which are on the market will meet their computing needs.

For the man in the street these new processsors are not even interesting unless you spend all your day gaming.

So No.

My experience is that every time they invent faster processors people Like Microsoft come up with more garbage to slow your computer down.

Windows 10 is full of stuff I don't need or want yet cannot uninstall.

When coding first started due to the lack of machine power coders had to write efficient code. Today that requirement has gone so lots of bad code sucking up the gains made by the hardware folk.

I don't expect that to change.

Too right....look at the threads on that one.

We only get the 8 and 12 cores in the end......I hear that the whole cpu line up is getting announced at E3 on June 10th.....so maybe the 16 core is coming then....but at the moment it looks like I'll be getting my wad out for the 12 core.

Just think how many complex tasks they will be able to do at the same time. Almost as good at multitasking as a wife with kids and a job, apparently.
