As it looks like that we shall lose Wilf may I suggest we make serious enquiries towards getting Dwight Gayle back.

I saw that WBA have sent him back to Newcastle. He has his moments but every manager seems to get rid when they have the chance. I think his overall work rate is not good enough. We need a striker in the mould of Son at Spurs. Someone who scores goals and has a high work rate.

Dwight Gayle is a good championship player and that is where he should stay . I still don't understand why we have this obsession to bring back ex players . Do we have a good goalkeeper I am still to be convinced . No Benteke was not a waste of money the goals he scored in his first season kept us up therefor making us loads of money and I believe he is still our best striker .

West Brom are not sending him back because of his work rate or attitude. They are sending him back because Newcastle want £15m and they can’t afford his 55k a week wages. I would be all for him to return. He can score goals that’s proven. Trouble he had was pardew and when he did play him he had him as a late sub player and also played hoof ball up to him. £15m i believe is good business. Hell, I’d pay £15m to have Murray back at his scoring rate.

With respect, thank goodness you are not our manager. Benteke may be our best striker but it doesn't mean either he, Wickham or Sorloth or anywhere near the standard we require. Our keeper is not a cause for concern. It's our strike force of Benteke, Wickham and Sorloth that collectively scored 3 goals oall season between them that are!

People are quick to knock Dwight but he was our top scorer 2 seasons in a row. I'm not saying we should bring him back, far from it, but just pointing out that if we hadn't got rid he would probably have been our top scoring striker for last couple of seasons too lol.

I would anticipate either Benteke or Sorloth will not be at the club next season, as this will mean two stikers coming in maybe one bought and one on loan, Dwight Gayle on loan for a season I think would be good, 55k a week not too bad, and maybe Newcastle may chip in

We should sell Benteke as he's only got one year left so no point losing him for free. Can't see Chelsea selling Bats. I just hope we don't go cheap and get freebies like injury prone Sturridge/Carrol or swap Benteke for a worse version in Wilfried Bony. Wickham won't stay fit and Sorloth isn't good so we really do need to spend. Gayle isn't the answer, no one in the Prem has thought he was good enough.

Maupay particularly, 25 goals, 8 assists and the most shots on target for all the big top scorers in the Champs. Played just down the road so is probably based close. Felt we should of made a bid when we were looking at the likes of Sorloth, who does now look like a panic buy. Would of cost more but a far better investment.

If Newcastle do really only want £15m then I wouldn't be adverse to him coming back. Dwight is a great finisher and would get goals under Roy's system, but maybe more of an off the bench option (if he was happy with that role) as I wouldn't want to rely on him as our number one striker.
