Champions League and Europa League final.

4 prem teams.

even if you don't like some of these Prem teams, its nice to put the arrogant Spanish, the dramatic Italians or the efficient German Giants all in their place. And as for the Scots ? dream on.

Palace ? its not so terrible being mid-table in this league. And as for Real Madrid at the Bernebeu ? We've gone to tougher places and won.

It all starts with money, and that becomes transfers , then goals...and then more money.

Is there a trend towards greater dominance of Prem teams across Europe or will Jean-claude Drunkard try to throw a spanner in the works ?

Great news for the English game and really shows how elite the premier league has become. I doubt Fergie would want to manage anymore as the competition is just to fierce.

Seen Liverpool have already taken the opportunity to make themselves the victim by complaining about £750 easyJet flights.

People who can afford to fly all around Europe and pay hundreds of pounds for tickets, accommodation and booze are hardly the impoverished working class.

I think it really shows the strength and level of competition in the prem. Pep has alluded to it many times.

Well done to the club's who have made it, they've given their supporters some incredible memories and the neutrals some fantastic entertainment.

Out of interested I had a quick check of the lineups to see English participation in the 2nd legs of the latest European ties. 11 English players played some part in the games. Hopefully it'll be even more in the finals as experience at that level can only be beneficial for the national team.

Seems a little harsh. I'm sure there'll be lots of people desperate to go (some of whom will go) who can't really afford to.

The Europeans are not happy as their domestic leagues do not generate the revenues of the PL. That is why the top 30 clubs want to revamp the Champions League as they see this as the only cash cow that can compete with the PL. Our greedy top clubs are part of this group and happy to go along with the revamp.

The basic idea is that the big boys more or less qualify automatically each year regardless of where they finish in the league. Meanwhile everyone else is just a beggar at the feast, promotion and relegation for the many not the few.

That is why Ajax were so desperate to win the CL and why the rest of Dutch football gave them time off. They realise that if this new format goes ahead Dutch teams will not be included and will have to fight with the also rans across Europe each year unless they can be successful now.

He/the EU has/have no authority over UEFA, which encompasses numerous non-EU countries.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Guys I don't care if premier league teams win it (unless we do) as the league currently sucks. I want a return to the First division over this 'premier league' get the TV money out of football. They only care about Top 6. When they start caring about my Palace then I will care about our 'teams' winning European titles.

Big up the Palace!!!!

Plus we could say we have beaten the premier league champions, the champs league winners (if spurs win) and the europa league winners (if arse win it) in the same season

The ticket touts will be licking their lips - particularly in Madrid as fans pay over the odds for tickets to see the final.

Good news for English football but maybe not England given we are supposed to be playing in the Nations cup thing on June 6th!

You could argue there has never before been such an amount of free stuff:
Facebook (free)
Spotify (free)
Most computer games (free)
WiFi (free)
Online education courses (free)
Books, digitally (free)
Streaming sports online (free)
Freecycle stuff (free)
Dating apps (free)

Of course money is still an issue for a lot of people. But there’s a helluva lot of free stuff out there.
