Ok, this is my opinion, feel free to post others if you think they deserve more. In no particular order: 1. Messi- 34 goals and 15 assists, I'm not even counting how many penalties, cause it just doesn't matter at this rate I'm not that big a fan of center forwards who get many balls in front of the net, like Aguero, Lewandowski or Benzema. I mean, don't get me wrong, they're great players, but they're also made by the team. And at national level, we can see that Lewa and even Aguero don't have the same impact. I tried to only name players good both with scoring or assisting, but also good for pressing and when the team doesn't have the ball. Sorry, no Zaha ) Do you think any of those would come to Palace to make us stronger next year? Fun facts: Pablo Sarabia was bought by Sevilla for just 0.9 million fom Getafe after having scored 11 times and assisted 13 in his last 2 La Liga seasons there, in 5500 minutes. Wisam Ben Yedder was a goalscorer for a low-table team from France, Toulouse, came to Sevilla for 8 million. Iago Aspas was at Liverpool and was deemed surpluss for requirements. Though the competition at Liverpool is very strong and he himself is not really cut off for the Premier League speed, he still did wonders this last season for lowly Celta, even playing right winger at times. Messi type of player. Sevilla bought him from Liverpool for 6 million, Celta for just 5, but he was apready 28. Heung Min Son- bought by Leverkusen for 8 million from Hamburg after having scored 17 and assisted 3 in 3900 minutes by the age of 20 in the Bundesliga. Then sold to Tottenham for 27 million, now worth 80 million. Aubameyang- bought by St Etienne for 1 million in 2012 after he had played on loan in the French second division for Dijon and in Ligue 1 for Lille and Monaco (at that time not a powerhouse) and had 14 goals and 7 assists in 2200 minutes in the second league and 3300 minutes in Ligue 1, all playing as a winger in those days. And he scored 16 and assisted 11 for St Etienne the following season, they sold him to Borussia Dortmund for 11.5 million and he established himself there mostly as a striker and goalscorer of the league. Now at Arsenal where he plays both striker and left winger with great success. Also does many other things besides scoring Serge Gnabry was Arsenal's player and grew up in the English system. Bremen paid for him just 5 million after he had scored 17 and assisted 9 in the youth leagues in 3700 minutes. Luka Jovic had 13 goals and 4 assists before turning 18 years in 2200 minutes in the first Serbian division. Benfica paid for him 6 million but was stupid enough not to give him playing time. Let him go on loan to Frankfurt with a very low option to buy and, obviously, they activated it now. Just 6.5 million. Duvan Zapata went to Napoli for 6.5 million. He had 19 goals and 1 assist in 3000 minutes in the Argentine league by the age of 22. At Napoli he scored 15 and assisted 5 in 1900 minutes. But they sold him for 15 million. Now he's at Atalanta and the second top scorer of the Serie A. A real beast, a better version of Benteke.

I can see he made 21 in the PL, 4 in the CL and 4 in the cup comps. 21/38 starts in the Prem and 4/12 in the champions league does not suggest he’s their second best player. But plenty of players start more than 60% of their team's games (even ones that reach European Cup finals) and if Pep didn't trust him for crucial games at the end of the season....

I did want to discuss the thread, but clearly you need to deflect for some reason.. I wonder why. I’ve never had someone dig up an 18 month old thread on me, but interesting approach.. I think you of all people should probably avoid it. Let me know if you’d like to discuss the topic at hand.

And even if I had, he scored 3 goals from open play in 600 minutes, all against Tunisia and Panama, hardly a great accomplishment. He has this year 21 goals (excluding penalties) and 8 assists in 3800 minutes. Kind of few considering Callum Wilson, who plays for Bournemouth and doesn't have the same players feeding him balls, has 1 every 100 minutes. Harry is a good player, but it has not been his year.
