I've got a feeling Vincent Kompany's goal for City against Leicester might pip our Andros for GOTS. Don't get me wrong, Andros strike was miles better but all the pundits are saying when you add the context to it Kompany's was better.

Don't know how its awarded, vote, pundits etc but feel if its pundits then the BBC love in with the big clubs will give it to Kompany.

Nope it's not my name

Agreed...even though it was technically inferior to Andros's. Essentially goal of the season is the championship deciding goal nowadays not the technically best.

Nah, I'm happy for Andros to come second. You'll never hear the end of it off of all the gobby Scousers.

If that's the case, then the accolade is bulls***. It just becomes yet another closed shop for the big clubs.

The first goal at WBA from Andros was for me as good as the City goal but I guess it being a Carabao Cup match means it doesn't count.

Andros has scored some cracking goals this season, he doesn't get as many as he should but when he does they are net busters

While both are great goals, I struggle to see how the West Brom goal gets remotely near to the one at City.. The fact it was a volley, the technique, the connection, everything was perfect, it really was a goal a class above anything else we've seen from anywhere this season.. Puskas award could quite realistically be Andros' too.

Obscene that Andros won't now win it due to the soppy sentiment already surrounding Kompany's strike last night ...

You won't see a better strike than Townsends ... #fact!

No one else matters outside the top 6 ...

Andros goal vs City the obvious choice for any reason u can come up with. But (I think) Zaha's winner away to Huddersfield was even "more" world class, but due to opposition and their pedigree - Townsend's screamer deserve "Goal of the Season" award.

There lies the problem, Andros won’t now win the goal of the season for the same reason our players never get called up for England, because he plays for little old Crystal Palace from smelly south london
