Just a quick request for opinions regarding a music service.
I'm going to buy a decent quality speaker (possibly Naim)
but unsure which service to subscribe to?
my musical tastes can be quiet diverse, so would like as wide a library as possible.
was with amazon but found it a bit lacking.
whats to be avoided?
thanks.
KD.

I can only comment on Spotify as I haven't used any of the others. I was initially skeptical about paying to stream music why I have a large collection of LPs and CDs, however I'm a complete convert. Very easy to use and I rarely can't find whatever I'm looking for.

We have the family one at £15 a month for the five of us.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

If you still have cassette tapes maybe tape off Radio Luxembourg? Use the C120 Tape if you have them...

....but don't forget to tell your Mum not to come in and ask if you want some tea whilst you are recording....

used to have a good few ruined with the dog barking.

cant hear 'son of my father' by chicory tip without thinking of a dog barking at the end of the chorus.

If you have Amazon Prime, then for an extra £3 a month you get music and videos which is excellent too, especially if you have an alexa.

I have spotify and Amazon prime music and it's rare I can't find what I want to listen to.

I use Spotify and very happy with it. I have Amazon Prime but not bothered myself to use it so much. I find Spotify very efficient because i nearly find everything, as i am looking for downstream genres or songs.

Tidal would be useful if you wish lossless format.

Vodafone has Spotify partnership so i don’t pay for partnership, just so you know.

Naim speakers? They're best known for their separates.
I would buy speakers from specialist speaker manufacturers like PMC, Spendor etc.

Don't get me wrong, Naim are brilliant - I've just bought a Uniti Atom and it is nothing short of astonishing.

I have c850 CD's and they have all been uploaded to my Olive HD04, an operation which took 3 months. Mistake. All Olives failed and the company ran away with our monies!

Now I subscribe to TIDAL and their music is streamed at c320kb/s which is so good, it's probably not worth opting for the HD format.

Let us know what you end up with though.

I ended up signing up with tidal but the Plex/hifi option which is £20 a month.
much of the music is available Flac or master quality.
some tracks sound no different but anything re-mastered sounds like hearing it totally fresh.
I'm currently playing on the B&O bioplay A2 speaker ive had fpr a while but will be buying a Naim mu-so music system sometime later this year.

there is a version 2 just been released but it about £500 quid more.
