Apologies if there is a similar thread, or if its in the wrong section.

Seen a lot of interesting calls on relegated players, and Premier League options. Does anyone have any decent left back suggestions?

Feel an upgrade on a left-back could provide us more points next season than other positions, and it's a position that deserves more discussion.

Rare beasts, good left backs. Most clubs will have an eye out for one so there are probably very few available at decent money. Everyone was surprised when Man City expressed interest in PVA last season and whilst it may just have been paper talk it highlights the lack of quality LBs around.

I think we're fine at LB with PVA, Schlupp and Souare.

There are plenty of other areas that are a priority to strengthen.

I'd also much sooner we showed some loyalty to players that have had several decent seasons for us and have clearly bought into the club, than bin them off just because they've had one average season.

I know you’ll get the usual anyone can look good playing for Celtic in the Scottish league, but he always looks very good to me,always stands out, he’d do for me.

Celtic want £25m for him, excellent player but out of our price range I'd have thought. Whoever gets him in the summer, probably Man U, will be getting someone on a par with Robertson.

In terms of PVA, he has never been the best defender and is better going forward than defending.I believe I stated as such when we signed him.He is better suited to a wing-back role or as an attacking full-back but we don't play this system. He was appalling yesterday and arguably the first two goals were down to his poor defending. He has also been very average of late and I suspect teams have targeted him him as a weak link.

Yes, Roy plays a narrow back 4 which requires the fullback to only challenge the winger once they have the ball. AWB does it well but PVA gets caught consistently out of position or ball watches rather than having an eye on his man. He was on the wrong shoulder of Sterling for the first goal and got away with another on a marginal offside. As you say he didn’t cover himself in glory with the second goal either. Definitely a weak link in the team which is being exploited by teams with even half decent right wingers and he should be replaced next year.

PVA has been a real liability this season. Ok going forward but defensively very poor.

If Sheffield UTD don’t get promoted then for me Enda Stevens could well be worth looking at. Been very impressed with his performances both in defending and attacking.

Won't be cheap. Can we afford to blow a lot of money on a lb?
