Right, 1st of all this is MY opinion watching this game 'live'

What a pile of cack this was. Our keeper had more touches of the ball than anyone else on the pitch, due our constant backwards passing(especially in the 1st half). The boos that rang out at half time told there own story.

Now, i know a lot of you saw this match online & was able to see certain things better than i could(LH Block H Row 4). So, with that in mind, here are MY assessment of our players . . . .

Guaita &. Had a busy backpass day, & when he wanted to start an attack, our defence(Thommo/Dann) wouldnt move away quick enough.

Obi !. 9 So solid, so assured, so safe. MOM

Thommo. 5. unsure nervous static. Not his best game

Dann. 6. Same as above but helped Thommo out on more than one occasion.

PVA. 7. Actually had a good game today, probably due to Wilf covering him.

Andros. 7. had a good game, troubled Hudders & helped out AWB.

Max. 6. Got caught a few times, but always looked to win the ball back & start another attack.

Milo. 7. Solid game took his penalty well.

Wilf. 8. Quiet game as such, does what it says on the tin.

Schlupp. 8. Actually had a decent game, always looking to drive forward.

Batsman. 6. Didnt do much wrong, had hardly any service, but, held the ball up ok.

Bearing in mind our poor home form, yes, we won, but boy did we labour for this, Hudders played like they knew they were down, no heart, no spirit, no nothing. Our keeper had more touches than the whole of Huddersfield combined . . . WTF?

AS i said, this is MY opinion, watching the match at SP, Can we beat Spuds next week, why not, our luck against them HAS to change sometime.

'A pile of cack', but only Tomkins gets 5/10?

YES.

Or would you like me to change my HONEST marks to suit you?

Don't know what game you were watching, I was at the match as well.
Dann today was a liability, nearly gifted them a goal in the first half.
PVA's passing was awful.
Meyer offered us nothing,RH did the right thing bringing on Mc. Arthur for the second half.
Batshuayi caught offside numerous times, missed gilt edge chance in first half. Benteke looked more of a threat.
The rest I agree with apart from the fact that Huddersfield played above their league position in the first half.

I sit in the main stand neat the middle and probably have a better overview of the pitch than yourself.

NO, I was just POINTING out that it's strange to CONDEMN the team's performance while thinking almost everyone played really WELL.

PVA and Schlupp were pretty terrible, especially in the first half.

This bit in bold says a whole lot more than the rest of your post. Thank you for posting, tho i disagree with you on a couple of things

I started a thread after the game that got ‘merged’, triffic.
Look at the table, everyone above us is better than us, and everyone below is worse, not just the number of points , but the teams. We are where we deserve to be, below par at home and better than we should be away from home.
We beat a team today that are now relegated, but they still needed to be beaten. We beat Man City away, no one done that in the previous 40 games. We can beat anyone , but have no consistency, same as everyone above Fulham and below Tottenham.

Sorry but there is a complete mismatch between your perception of the performance overall and the markings you gave the players. Just doesn’t add up.

An absolutely awful game, although at this time of the season im not to fussed how we get the points. Beyond me how pro footballers can not make a 10 yard pass, first time that ive left a game weve won and was still pretty pi$$ed off. Positive was jimmy and tekkers looked good when they came on and made the difference!

Further to my post.
Dann 4.5
PVA 5
Meyer 4.5
Batshuayi 5.

The rest same as yours.

Just happy that we won, blood pressure now approaching normal. Had we taken all our chances in the second half the score would have been 5 or 6 nil then everyone would have been happy, perhaps

Roy’s got the midfield balance wrong again in the first half today.
We failed to control the midfield in the first half and often seemed to play with 9 men behind the ball against the worst team in the premier league.
It defied belief even for conservative Roy.
In the second half Mcarthur introduced more purpose and energy and Zaha played further forward and the team played with more zest without being brilliant.
Luka, Schlupp and Meyer is not a strong balanced midfield to play in the Premier League.
I can’t understand why we don’t use midfield axis of Luka and Kouyate which would give us a platform to play.
