Was it the right decision? I feel Aaron has every right to feel very disappointed.

I am probably in the minority on HOL, but I believe he is still a 'Work in progress' and not yet at the required standard for an England call-up.He has the potential however to make it to the top.

Not like you to take the contrarian view.. oh wait. In what ways do you believe Trent and Trippier are superior? Trippier, in particular, has had a very poor season.

AWB should have been in the squad instead of Walker. Trippier has also been poor recently, but Walker is not in any form
Let's keep the ball this season! |

It's no big deal leaving him out. He has plenty of time and probably, in the eyes of the England management, needs a bit more time to develop. The other big plus for me is that he won't be in the dressing room with the big time charlies from the top prem sides who will tell him what they earn and start the head turning and sly recruitment that always goes on when international sides get together. Gareth will come for him soon enough. Edited by fromtherope (13 Mar 2019 3.13pm)
I am enjoying being back at Selhurst and having a beer with my mates just like we have done for the past 40 years. Through Thick and thin we stick with our club. Not chairman, players or managers, OUR CLUB! |

Was or is he the top English tackler in Orem League. Don't be surprised if he chooses DRC. All Southgate had to do was include him. Very disappointed.

He is very unlucky not to get in the squad along with Ward-Prowse, Maddison & Coady. More bang average players such as Trippier Maguire Tarkowski Dier Barkley Loftus Cheek Delph get in when they have been average or hardly playing for their clubs. Edited by Ghostship (13 Mar 2019 3.23pm)

To be fair, England currently has an embarrassment of riches in the right-back position and the three who have been selected are quality players. But Aaron has been performing better all season than at least two of them. Every other week, we hear about the stats indicating he's had more successful tackles and blocked crosses etc than any defender in Europe, never mind the PL. Commentators, pundits and neutral fans have had nothing but praise for him all year, yet he still isn't deemed to be worthy of even a call-up. If he'd played a few minutes here and there as Antonio Valencia's back-up at Man Utd, he'd have been straight in. Playing consistently well at Palace every single week though just doesn't cut it. Still, look on the bright side - at least James Ward-Prowse has been left out as well!
