Not the first unscrupulous headline about this fella. Shame as he had real talent. Footballers are expected to be behaving a bit better than that these days. Hardly going to endear himself to the manager with this.

That said, hippy crack is such a ridiculous and sensationalist term for what is the same stuff they give you in hospital if you need a bit of a distraction from pain.

Not sure that he has done much wrong.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Correct me if I’m wrong but when he played for us he always struck me as a very quiet, unassuming and professional guy (much like AWB now) and I also thought he was a devout Christian ...

I guess the question is what on earth happened to the Clyne we saw at Palace??

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Mountain out of a mole hill.

Young lad with loads of money has a weekend off football so goes away with mates. Probably has a few drinks, possible laughing gas (harmless), bangs some hot birds. He's young and human. I'm sure this goes on with most footballers, the only silly thing is getting caught on camera holding a canister. Say's a lot about the 'friends' he was with though who sold the story.

People will jump on bandwagon and make a big thing of it. In reality its a non story.

There were a lot of rumours going round about him when he was out injured for a long time that it wasn't an injury but a quiet ban for erm...partying with the Viet Cong and being caught by in house Liverpool tests rather than official tests.

Disclaimer - not saying this is true, just rumours I saw going round.

And let's face it, Christianity has never caused any bad things to happen in the world.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Apart from the selling of the story, what you've described sounds like my average weekend. Before I met Mrs YT, obviously.

Would explain why Liverpool sent him out on loan, when they had a problem at right back. Preferring to have Milner struggle there.
