Just curious as to how much people have on a mortgage...combined partner income of 50k we have 130k mortgage. 38 years old over 25 years. We’re looking moving and making our mortgage 220k over 25 years. Not after any advice or comments of only afford what you can etc or wait and see what happens with brexit. Just wondered what sort of position others are in similar to the 38 years old mark. Ps I know it’s relative to what each and everyone earns I’m just curious.

I actually owe several million pounds (which is actually scary to admit)

However as a landlord/property developer I generally view that the more debt I have then the better off I am so I say bring it on!

There's good debt and bad debt and mortgages are definitely good debt.

I would say if you have a spare 20 quid a month pay off on your mortgage.
It will be worth at least double over the term.
Just ring each month instead off being regimented as one month you might have a bit more or not have it at all.
Ive been repoed and now am 8 years from finishing my second effort at keeping a property.
Be done when im 60 thank the lord.

I'm nearly 38 and have about 70k left on the mortgage, the flat is worth around 130k. Looking to sell soon and buy a small house up North for around the 60k mark to become mortgage free.

Have been looking at Blackpool as a location. It is close by train to lots of other places in the North like Manchester, Liverpool, The Lake District and even Edinburgh/Glasgow. Still only 3 hours from London too.

My mortgage has £140k left over 30 years. I'll be 62 by the time it's run its course. Hopefully it will be worth more then it currently is of £340k
