I sort of understand why the fans of some teams boo their ex-players who have left under certain circumstances (usually money related), but some of them just seem to boo them simply because they used to play for the team.

I was watching last night and couldn't understand why they'd boo Di Maria. Makes no sense. Surely the only times where it's a reasonable for a booing are examples such as Sol Campbell to Arsenal.. or Figo to Real Madrid. Even though Murray now plays for Brighton he still gets a great reception from us and rightly so.

Would that be Kevin Miller who walked out on us for a free transfer and signed for Barnsley. He got pelters when they came to us and had the game of his life including saving a penalty. Never sure about booing a player I think that just motivates them more.

How often does one of our players jump ship when we're desperate for them to stay? With most of our signings, we're desperate for someone to pay us for them!

Kevin was a great guy to talk to even if he did eat all the pies in the canteen. My son and I spent the day with the team many moons ago and had a great time. Attachment: img273.jpg (463.87Kb)
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

Nigel Martyn is an exception, he stayed a year longer than he needed after we were relegated. He always got a good reception on his return to Selhurst. Decent bloke, rare in football.
