I rarely start threads on here and apologise if this has been discussed. In my head and on paper, with the addition of MB this looks to be probably the most talented Palace team I can remember for years if ever. From VG forward it oozes quality and, to my mind, if MB starts instead of Ayew - we should start tearing it up a bit.

Absolutely criminal that the majority of fans seem stuck in the mindset of survival and that we're probably beyond catching 13th. That backline alone deserves a top ten finish. Watford, Brighton, Bournemouth, Newcastle to name just 4 teams above us don't have better sides than us.

Yes very much agree. I just hope we have the manager willing to allow the full potential of the team/squad. Great deal with Bats. Hats off to Parish. Was a bit disappointed with the no option to buy but probably sensible. If he comes in and contracts our strikeritis and forgets where the goal is theres no commitment there for a very weighty player (financially). Edited by MonsterMunch (01 Feb 2019 9.58am)

I think the whole club - SP, RH, players and fans first focus is on survival. That's the same for more than half of the clubs in the Premier League. Hardly '' criminal ''. West Ham spent £100m in the summer and they are mid-table. And out of the Cup. I don't know of anyone that would claim that finishing 13th is beyond us. At the moment we are 3 points away from that. I agree that on paper we have a small nucleus of players that could and should be higher in the league. Statistically the main reason for that is a lack of goals v chances created. The club have just tried to address that by signing Batshuayi. Squad wise I would contend that Bournemouth and Watford have more strength in depth. But don't let me stop you ( and I'm sure you won't ) having a downer on Steve Parish, Roy Hodgson, the fans and any members of HOL that don't agree with you. Your main purpose on here seems to be as an agitator without any creative ideas on how to resolve any of the issues that you have in the way the club is being run.

With a front 3 of Wilf Andros and Michy with Meyer Kouyate and Luka we could really start to climb the league and we should aim for a top 10 finish and then build on that for next season.

I find it interesting that I keep getting called an agitator by three posters just because they don't like to be confronted with the facts of reality. It's only an opinion, it wouldn't get to you.if it didn't ring true.

Totally agree, but Hodgson won't even start Meyer or drop Ayew for Wickham, so realistically, is this likely to happen? Edited by Midlands Eagle (02 Feb 2019 8.59am)

I wonder, for example, what Eddie Howe would/could do with this team? (I reference him because of the close bond and team spirit that seems to exist within Bournemouth).

If Potch goes to United I can see him stepping in at Spurs. Good scouting network, buys from lower leagues, promotes youth. All compatible with how Levy operates and they play some cracking football at times. Very envious of how Bournemouth is run/ managed.

MB has made 24 appearances for Valencia this season (many as sub). He has scored 3 goals. One in the league, (against bottom 3 club Celta de Vigo) one in the cup (against second tier opposition) and one in Europe (versus Young Boys). Edited by tonymikejoe (01 Feb 2019 10.30am)

Parish is a great chairman and a fan - which helps. Would hate to be run like some clubs (Spurs/Newcastle etc). There are some poor chairman out there.
