Mods can you caps this please
Apparently primark will NOT exchange items without the original receipt.
This includes gift receipts if you have purchased something as a gift.
At christmas this is common so it can be exchanged for a different style or size.
Not for a refund but a swap.
What is the point of offering the gift receipt and wasting the paper by printing it.
Not everyones choice of shop but most people will use or get an item from it.
I hope someone can answer why this stupid policy has been bought in and can someone spread the word so that people know they are full of s***.

Stops cashing in nicked gear - the was a primark t-shirt hanging in a store near me, the manager said it happens a lot that people swap while they shop. Primark a few quid less.

Most people will use it or get an item from there? Really?

What is a gift receipt and how is it different to a normal receipt?

If you've bought with a gift card you get a gift receipt.

A lot of people must use Primark as they seem very successful.

I certainly do - buy socks, undeewear, jeans and chinos there.
Are as good as M&S and 50+ % has cheaper.

A gift receipt excludes the price and is intended to be included with a gift so the recipient can change it.

Not sure what the issue is with having to show a receipt to change goods. Seems reasonable to me.

A gift receipt is a till receipt without the price attached.
So the receiver can swap for something of the same value.
It just prevents the buyer from handing over the complete receipt as it could have other items on it.
Ok I get the nicked gear bit but these receipts are offered in most stores for the above.
Some people dont know and you have to ask.
Its Proof of purchase but apparently not in primark.

I didn’t mention or hint at any insults. Most people don’t shop or receive items from there or they’d be absolutely huge, and they’re not. They may just seem big on the high street, or that part of the high street. Online clothing accounts for over 75% of clothing retail. It might be over 80%.

By shopping at Primark you’re also supporting exploitation and damage to the environment. There is also charity shops. I bet a lot of people shop at Primark not because they need clothes but because they want, or think they need a particular item or look.

Or three black ties for a funeral - hunted everywhere, Primark came up trumps.

Isn't Primark meant to be frightfully common, though?

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

It does some wonderful lines in the jogging bottoms, shorts and vests departments though
