What a worthy cause. Let's give animals a rest and not kill or exploit them for a month. Bit like ceasefires in Syria - total bollocks.

Thanks for reminding me, I am off to a yoga retreat in Somerset today which will be veggie. So of course I will have a fry up to keep me going over the next few meat free days. Its on an organic farm, all that lovely fresh meat and we are not allowed to eat it. After the last retreat I went on I felt a lot better and the veggie food was delicious so maybe laying off the red meat for a few days is not a bad idea, however I will never be a veggie. I’ve been eating red meat no more than twice a week for years because it takes days to properly digest through the colon. I only eat it once a week mostly now and if it’s twice the 2nd time will be a small amount. I eat white poultry and fish usually.

I still love it though not as much as in the past.

Vegans are anti nature because nature has created the whole meat eating dynamic. Once of my young cousins has recently switched to being a vegan. Is it right to be against nature in some circumstances?.....My instinct is no.....But it's a thoughtful question I haven't fully explored.

I've found as I've got older that red meat has become increasingly indigestible so I limit it to once every couple of weeks or so.

An interesting attitude So how much meat do you think humans were designed to eat? And how much dairy produce? You may wish to look up gut bacteria and lactose intolerance before answering that. I find the all or nothing approach a bit extreme but I think Vegans feel a bit like alcoholics. Don't touch any as it could draw you back in.

I think we were designed for a varied diet. If I think about it I should imagine most humans would make a large meat kill only occasionally and not every day.....so that's probably why our digestive systems aren't designed to process them as effectively. But humans are definitely designed to eat meat...we could look at how our teeth are designed, the front setting of the eyes and so on.......Or we could just look at what tribes are doing in the remote forests and see it plain as day. For me....the whole meat thing is more a philosophical question about how to regard yourself in terms of nature.

Perhaps this is about the inhumane way animals are treated! What artificial sh** is pumped into your meat to make it "red". I am not a vegan but dont eat red meat and have a lot of sympathy for the way vegans are portrayed. Piers Morgan being a prime example
