Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

She was a funny lady and a good straight man to many comics. Another one of the classic comediennes from the swinging sixties, so few of them left now.

My personal favourite is her and Frankie Howard's version of Je T`aime.

RIP girl you deserve it.

She was only on the radio a couple of days ago. Sounds like a life very well lived.

This is more sad news....though she had a right good innings....I remember seeing her as a young actress in 'Hobson's Choice'....classic 'John Mills' movie from 1954.

As a school kid I loved her in TV ads for Birds Eye pies. Quality acting. If I recall correctly she played a wife (vicar’s wife maybe?) who pretended that the pies were her own. Class. Then obvs the Carry On films, Terry and June, Ab Fab.....

Can’t believe it, I was only watching Carry on Abroad a couple of days ago and I googled her to see how old she was because I knew she was still alive and must’ve been a fair old age.

RIP
