"It would be very nice to add a few new faces, to introduce a bit of fresh blood, some new spirit. But it is a difficult market so I am very realistic and sanguine about it all. If something happens I would be delighted. If it doesn’t I won’t be bleating too much"

Am I misinterpreting this or am I gonna have to go on another rant about our transfer policy?

But I am sure the vast majority of our supporters will be bleating with Parish thrown in the pestle and mortar and pummelled, metaphorically speaking of course. He will ripped apart by the 'Hyenas' on HOL and the BBS.

Why don’t you wait and see who we get first?

RH also talked about Benteke and Kalkai and now Connor Wickham is back.

It would take an awful lot IMO to persuade SP to part with millions when we already have our own personnel, the wage bill is already enormous.

Perhaps a couple of loans maximum.

Fair enough. But can you blame me for getting sceptical? Especially with our history

Kaikai is not good enough and Benteke and Wickham need a smaller more clinical strike partner to be fully effective under this system.

I'm not even asking for much. One good goalscorer and maybe a winger. That's it. Play your cards right and you could get that for less than £15m. And if you need wages, cancel Ayew's loan, ship Mutch off to Cardiff and send Sorloth on loan to the Championship. That'll save you at least £100k a week on wages right there. Done.

We won't be parting with significant sums in January.

Simple? If Ayew's loan is for a year it can't be cancelled without Swansea's consent (which we won't get) and Championship sides will only pay a % of wages - Mutch maybe £5k and Sorloth maybe £10k a week. So total saving c£15k a week.

Next idea??

Yes its so simple lets just take Steve Parishes chequebook down the euro footballer shop and buy one. All we need is a striker and there can't be many other teams on this planet looking fora good striker to score loads of goals.

We’ve actually spend a lot of money over our seasons in the prem, just not all that well in general.

This summer was the first time I sensed some planning in our transfer and contract strategy. A few players took a cut and some big earners left the club.

I don’t think buying in Jan is a good indication of a transfer strategy. Rather, it’s a panic time to buy. I don’t think we need any other players to stay up. Batshuayi on loan could be good but would still
cost several millions.

Save our monies for the summer.

I have the utmost faith in SP and our superb scouting network masterminded by Dougie to deliver exactly want Roy wants in the January window as mirrored in last Summers one. This is teamwork at its finest.

This will also be further evidence of SP’s intentions to do everything to deliver a higher position than the 11th achieved last season without having to change managers.Keeping the bar high as usual and showing true ambition.

Bring back Brolin
