Really? it 's the only planning permission they have not granted.

It's a magnificent stadium albeit late to open.

As a Palace fan I am well jealous and a little depressed by it.
While all the big clubs in London have acquired or built new stadiums, we are still struggling to get one stand built and are falling further behind in the game of clubs.

I applaud Parish and his efforts to improve Selhurst Park but we really must get closer to the bigger clubs or we will sink back to the lower league doldrums where the club has spent most of its existence.
We have to completely rebuild Selhurst Park in the very near future and have a capacity that takes us to the next level. Arsenal, Spurs and Ham all have 60k plus and we are getting excited about 34k. That will put us on a par with a load of medium clubs but we need to think bigger. We have loads of fans supporting big clubs around South London and even if it meant a large away contingent for home games, it also means big crowds for many PL fixtures.
If we had 50K, I would be happy for 10k of them to be away fans.

Yes, i have to agree, at least 40k to start, even with more away fans as you stated, as it is, i"m hoping to see a giant crane appearing in the Croydon skyline backdrop to start work on the 34k!Anyone know when that might happen?

I don't know how the council can keep giving a safety certificate to the Main Stand , i thought it had been condemned but given a stay of execution on the premise that we had intentions to rebuild . Its pretty obvious that Croydon will bend to what Palace want to an extent as the loss of the club from the borough is something they really don't want .
