Where is yours being held, do you have to pay, do they give you time off, are you going to bother going?

My company is going dog racing, dinner and drinks thrown in. It's the same day as West Ham away so I'm not bothering and will stay out up town after the game.

They're going to some Indian restaurant in Wembley but sadly I'll be in Gran Canaria so will have to miss it this year

The company pay for the food and a couple of drinks however you have to give a deposit which you get back on the night.

Normally a good night but I'd rather be in a warm place.

Anyone who is in a management role I would advise give the Xmas party a wide birth. Over the years I found this did me a big favour. If one of my staff misbehaved I wasn't there so not obliged to do anything about it. It also meant I didn't have that conversation with a drunk and angry staff member e.g. why didn't I get the promotion / bonus / pay rise. Those conversations are for the office and yet people still corner the boss at the Xmas party, and it never goes well.

I used to invite a select few who I could trust for a discreet drink at another time (everyone pays of course).

Flight Club. Will be a freebie. I do like a pint and a game of darts so could be worse.

As Managing Director and sole employee I'm expecting mine to be an alcohol fuelled, sexually charged evening.

On my own.
