I watched Donkin come off the bench for 30mins for Taiwan against North Korea. He played well and looked a threat with some skills and sound passing. He's a 17 yr old Palace youth player who is a legend in Taiwan. Known as the Taiwanese Messi!

That's good, lets hope he continues developing. Personally I think Kian Flanagan and or James Daly will be the next cabs off the rank. Edited by Stirlingsays (17 Nov 2018 5.34am)

No in all seriousness never heard of him but all in favour of giving the young guys a chance, seeing as our two best players came from the academy.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

Ha! Think you're getting mixed up with China there mate! Taiwan is actually very innovative. After the game when the players came over he seemed pretty happy and surprised to see a Palace shirt in the crowd and gave me his shirt. He seemed pretty sound.

I have seen Donkin play a couple of times on TV, clearly there is potential. Taiwan/ Chinese Taipei football improved considerably when they bought in a British coaching team.headed by Gary White who left to manage the Hong Kong team.

Yea, he's an Eton boy but looks good. We bought him from Chelsea so he'll hopefully keep developing and replace Zaha one day. Originally posted by michaelpearce

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Two Chinese Super League clubs after Will Donkin' by bexleydave I know I'm a bit late posting this but it's only just been brought to my attention with him playing for Taiwan today. Seems they want him as Taiwanese players are considered Chinese for player quotas in China, so they're after him like they were with Tim Chow who's now playing over there. Chris Coleman seems fond of him even though he's yet to play for Palace. I think it'd be a shame to lose Donut Boy (as he's known in Taiwan) before he even gets a senior chance here but I guess if the right offer comes along then the board may consider selling. Yeah if it were a loan for experience of senior football (and playing with top quality players like Mascherano), then I'd be OK with it. May be more beneficial than a loan to League One. Plus from a marketing perspective, a loan would put Palace's name into the Chinese footballing consciousness. But I wouldn't want to sell.
