This is not about the left, or the right, or immigration, it's about the man as an elected official. Can anyone tell me what has Mr Khan actually done as London Mayor. I just saw him on the BBC in Berlin. He comes across as an absolute fake who is just taking a pay cheque and we already have plenty of those on all "sides". I do remember him promising lots of new homes, has building started? The only thing I know that he has done recently, is make traffic lights stay longer on red. As did Ken, to make it look like congestion was worst than it was, just prior to rolling out the C charge. Why he is doing that again now is beyond me. I find it hard to think of anyone who is more of a total waste of space then he is. I genuinely would like someone to give me an alternative opinion on the Mayor of London, as I actually forgot he was The Mayor.

There are 2 types of politician. Those who see getting elected as the goal and those who see getting elected as a necessary stepping stone for achieving their aims. I think "Mayor Cannot" is the former. He always seems pleased with himself. Well done now how about doing something.

Khan's ambition is to be leader of the Labour Party. Mayor of London is just a pit stop for him to work towards achieving that ambition. He takes no responsibility....knife crime ? - Blame the government. U-turns on the aforementioned knife crime, Brexit, housing...failure to keep election promise of planting trees.... And I think that the Mayor should focus on doing what's best for London and not be involved in the politics of things like the visit of the American President - it's not his place to de facto supporting '' peaceful protests ''. And make no mistake, I'm no supporter of Trump.

Whereas, of course, Boris Johnson did absolute loads of things for us, like cutting police numbers when he said he would do the opposite.

Politicians will all promise the world when trying to get elected but once successful backtrack blaming their predecessor or anyone else for their inability to deliver. So it has always been.

The topic is Sadiq Khan - not BoJo - although I'm not disagreeing with your comments. If the politics can be removed from the job, maybe things would actually get done properly

On the plus side, he hasn't wasted loads of money on vanity projects... Like nearly £50m of public money spent on the garden bridge idea... Or the hundreds of thousands of pounds on water cannon that the Home Office hadn't approved for use on the mainland... Or the money spent on the New Routemasters (which ended up emitting more pollution than the older models)... And he didn't bungle the Olympic Stadium conversion and West Ham deal...

I think it's unanimously agreed that Sadiq is using the Mayor's office to attack the Tories and world leaders he doesn't like en route to becoming Labour leader. Here's the list of achievements I could find: Sadiq started 1,263 social rent home within his two years of office. In his first year as mayor, Boris started 7,439 homes for social rent. OK there was a government grant cut, but freezing fares for some commuters has left TfL unable to pay the debt on their loans, improve maintenance and cut bus investment. He has actually agreed with Boris' garden bridge project but keeps changing his mind. In April he said he was to spend £6m on toilets for bus drivers. He wants more gender neutral toilets built, with no cost mentioned. But his greatest achievement is that crime has shot up in virtually every category. Yet it's the government's fault.

That's a bit harsh! He may get the Super Bowl Final here (which was his soundbite a couple of months ago when there had been a tragedy in the Capital and most people would expect him to discuss that!)!
