I saw Le Tour when in London a while back. Probably not as much as it's cracked-up to be. I don't think cycling is a spectator sport. ?
Boxing. I think you have to be ringside (irrespective of venue) to appreciate the brutality.
The start of the Indy 500 was OK, but am not a fan of oval motorsport.
The Le Mans is all about the fun fair and cocaine to see how to keep yourself awake.
Is rowing a sport ? is it even entertaining ?...and don't get me started about the Monaco GP, . .Zzzzzzzzz

For me,....
* An ice hockey grudge match
* MMA fight
* Isle of man TT (either spectator or participant)

cricket ?
I won't deride your choice of sport.

However, I live but 5 miles from the oldest written-recorded cricket pitch in England. (no clues)

I have no interest in cricket, but I do feel a pang of history every time I walk around the edge of the pitch (once a week)

Also within 10 miles of Bexhill, which is the alleged home of where motor racing first took place.
I've even driven along the road where it took place quite a few times.
I used to live in Frimley. This is the supposed location of the first international boxing title fight.

Watching naked female mud-wrestling has to be top of the list at the moment.
else a participant

Epsom Derby is easy to tick off, just get a train to Tattenham Corner on the day, take your picnic i.e. Blue carrier with 12 cans, few bob to bet with and steer clear of the pikies

Great bucket list PE, ive been fortunate to tick 9 of those off mine. I was also lucky to watch the Americas Cup in Bermuda(where im from) last year.

My ultimate 'Bucket List Wish' is to see a whole 'Scalectrix'(F1) for a whole season, now if my solicitor pulls his finger out & releases my funds, then next year could become a reality.

Here's hoping . . .

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

At the risk of sounding like an old misery, I never really had a desperate urge to see any live sport except watching the Palace. I always thought that most sport was better seen on TV. I have seen a few athletics events but that is about it. I remember seeing Ali fight at the cinema as a kid and I once had a desire to see a big heavyweight fight but I'm over it. The closest I got was being in Vegas when Holyfield fought Bowe with the famous bloke flying into the crowd incident in '93. It was sold out.

I'd like to go to a world cup finals to watch England and I'd like to see Palace play in Europe.

That's about it.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Cricket is much better live than on TV as you have no idea of perspective when watching on TV for example the wicket keeper looks like he is standing back a couple of yards to a fast bowler whereas he is actually about 25 yards back.

The same for the slip fielders who look on TV to be a couple of yards away but in real life are again considerably further back

The same here. Might not be the best opposition anymore but it's got to be the best location.

Optimistic as ever
